Dry ice delivery in Tampa Bay

Bought dry ice but need someone to pick it up? Some suppliers will only load a pickup truck or van, not an SUV. Book a Meeld Pickup or Van to collect the boxes from your supplier and deliver them to your business.

Boxes containing dry ice in a cargo van
Dry ice needs special handling. It releases carbon dioxide gas as it warms. CO₂ can build up in an unventilated vehicle and create an asphyxiation risk; the material can also cause cold-contact injuries. Choose Pickup or Van rather than a passenger vehicle, and clearly identify the dry ice in your order notes. The cargo still needs suitable packaging and ventilation.

Need dry ice picked up from Airgas in Tampa?

Already ordered boxed dry ice from Airgas in Tampa but need someone to bring it to your business? Meeld is an independent delivery service: book a Pickup or Van to collect your order and deliver it to your lab, clinic, food business or event location. Meeld does not sell the dry ice.

Confirm the order, pickup time, driver pickup instructions and vehicle requirements with Airgas before booking. We do not claim that Airgas requires a particular vehicle; ask that location what it will accept. The same Meeld delivery service can be booked for dry ice purchased from another supplier.

Dry ice pickup from your supplier

If your supplier requires a pickup truck or van to release your dry ice boxes, you do not need to send an employee in their own vehicle. Arrange a direct delivery from the supplier to your location.

Labs & research teams

Supplies for research work or temperature-sensitive shipments. Tell us if biological specimens or regulated materials are involved so we can review them separately.

Clinics & healthcare suppliers

Time-sensitive dry ice replenishment and materials for facility operations. Medical samples, medicines and validated cold-chain work need their own handling requirements and prior approval.

Food & events

Food distributors, caterers and event production teams may use dry ice for cooling or approved effects. The sender must disclose the cargo and provide suitable packaging.

Vehicle matters

Pickup truck or cargo van?

If your supplier will not load an SUV, choose Pickup or Van when booking. Confirm the supplier's vehicle requirements before placing the order.

An open-bed pickup truck keeps cargo outside the driver cabin, but the load must be secured and protected as appropriate for the packaging, weather and route.

A cargo van may be considered when the cargo area is physically separated from the driver and adequately ventilated. A solid bulkhead alone does not remove CO₂ from an enclosed cargo space.

In Express, choose Pickup or Van under Vehicle Type. Make sure the actual vehicle and cargo setup can safely carry your load. Do not use a fully airtight container for dry ice.

How to book

Order online in three steps.

  1. Enter your supplier and destination.
After arranging your dry ice purchase and pickup with the supplier, use Meeld Express or the Business Dashboard. Enter the supplier as pickup and your business as drop-off.
  2. Select the vehicle.
Under Vehicle Type choose Pickup or Van—the options shown in Express. If the supplier will not load an SUV, do not choose Sedan, SUV or Minivan.
  3. Write what you are sending in the delivery notes.
For example: “Dry ice, 4 boxes, approximately 20 lb total, packed in vented insulated containers.” Include the actual quantity, box count and handling details for your shipment, then complete the order.

What to put in the notes

Write “Dry ice” explicitly. Add the supplier's pickup instructions, number of boxes, approximate total weight, packaging type and any unloading instructions so the driver knows what to collect.

Booking through your business account? Use the same details in the order notes and select an appropriate available vehicle. If your shipment also contains specimens, medicine or other regulated contents, contact Meeld about those additional requirements.

Safety and shipping responsibilities

The sender is responsible for accurate contents, suitable vented packaging and any rules that apply to other items shipped with the dry ice. Tell us about specimens, pharmaceuticals, chemicals or air/sea legs up front; those shipments may need separate review or may not be accepted. Meeld does not promise validated temperature control, clinical specimen handling or hazardous-material carriage without specific written confirmation.

Dry ice (solid carbon dioxide) has different transport rules by mode. For US motor-vehicle-only shipments, PHMSA explains that its UN1845 entry is generally regulated under the federal hazardous-materials rules for air or vessel transportation, not automatically for road-only transportation. That does not make an unventilated vehicle safe or remove requirements that may apply to other cargo.
